Agency Management Institute: Register Now!
Registration for the 2010 NAILBA Agency Management Institute (AMI) is available for $199 - register now!  Consider these Three Great Reasons to attend:

1. The 2010 AMI will provide two (2!) all new Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center customer service sessions. Customer service has a direct impact on the credibility of your agency - one bad customer experience can cost you a customer, maybe several. Don’t miss this opportunity to arm yourself with top-notch information designed to help you keep the customers you have AND grow your business! These sessions would cost thousands of dollars if you contracted them directly with Ritz Carlton!

2. All meals are included in the price of registration: that’s two lunches, a breakfast, and a networking reception!

3. You’ll have a chance to win one of two iPod classics* (valued at more than the cost of registration!) by attending each of the Product Training University sessions. Get up-to-date information from vendors and carriers, then enter your completed Passport into a drawing to win!

In addition to these Three Great Reasons to attend, AMI will provide:

  • an Agency Best Practices Panel;
  • two Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center training sessions;
  • a review of the Teleunderwriting Survey and a discussion of issues impacting geriatric underwriting; and
  • two sessions of Product Training University with vendors and carriers.

Visit the AMI Web page for an updated full agenda, hotel reservation information and a list of participating sponsors. Full information about AMI was mailed to all member agency principals in March.

The Westin Lombard may still be able to offer a discounted rate of $159 Single/Double if rooms are still available at the hotel; call 630-719-8000 and reference the NAILBA Agency Management Institute to inquire about the discounted rate.

*Thanks to Sunshine Promotions for providing the iPod classics!

NAILBA Mourns the Loss of Al Rosen
Alfred Rosen, 5/2/28-4/15/10

It is with sadness the Underwriters Brokerage Service family announces the passing of founder Al Rosen. Al passed away on Thursday, 4/15/10 after a long illness but leaves behind a lasting legacy in business and with family and friends.

Al was one of the strong early proponents of independent insurance brokerage, founding Katzen Rosen Associates (Underwriters Brokerage Service) with his partner Bob Katzen in 1970. He was active in the local life underwriters association in those early days and was a leader in the formation of a national study group LIFE, Inc which ultimately morphed into Lifemark Partners.

Al was a gifted salesman and marketer and though he retired nearly 20 years ago, his efforts, integrity and business philosophy still permeate Underwriters Brokerage to this day. Given the early foundation of success that he developed, the agency continues to thrive under the current leadership of his sons (NAILBA Chairman) Mark and Steve.

Condolences may be forwarded to the Rosen family c/o Underwriters Brokerage Service, 310 Grant Street, Suite 920, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
